Do you accept new patients?

We are hoping to be able to accept new patients in a near future. If you or a member of your family are looking for a doctor, make sure to register online on the Ontario government list via HealthCare Connect Ontario or by calling 811.

Question 2

Can I access my medical results?

Accepted Answer

Ontario does not yet have a centralized system for accessing all medical test results.  Some hospitals use certain software programs (such as MyChart), but they do not contain all patients' results.   
WARNING!  The results appearing on sites such as MyChart or by Dynacare laboratories are raw results - i.e. they are not interpreted by a professional who can understand them according to context - the best person remains your doctor to review the results with you and apply them to your situation.  Be careful about using generic sources (think Dr. Google and the like), which can cause you more stress than anything... 
The best way to review your results is to make an appointment with your doctor.   
We also sometimes use secure e-mail to send you many of our results - don't forget to check if St-Isidore MEDICAL is writing to you!

How do I open the e-mail I received from St-Isidore MEDICAL?

Click on the blue "View Secure Message" link at the bottom of the message. 
You'll need to enter your date of birth in the appropriate fields. This will give you access to your doctor's message.

Question 4

I need a prescription refill.  What should I do?

Accepted Answer

Ideally, you should have your medication renewed during an appointment with your doctor.  Bring your medication containers for a specific refill.  If you've run out of refills, it's time for a visit. 
Otherwise, please ask your pharmacist to send us an electronic renewal request.  This is the surest way to avoid medication errors.  PLEASE DO NOT CALL US FOR A RENEWAL but go through your pharmacist. 
Please allow 5 working days for a drug renewal.  Plan ahead!

Question 5

I need the doctor to fill out a form (for employer, school, insurance).

Question 6

Do I need to see a doctor to get a flu shot or other vaccine?

Accepted Answer

You can get a flu shot at any time between November and March, provided a doctor is on site. 
Other vaccines are available without appointment (tetanus, pneumonia, etc.). 
Some other vaccines, such as shingles and hepatitis, require a prescription.

I need to send a picture at the request of my doctor.

You can send it by e-mail via the secure platform Ocean by CLICKING HERE. 📧
No medical questions or emergencies will be handled by email. Please make an appointment by phone or online.

Question 8

Is wearing a mask mandatory at St-Isidore MEDICAL?

Accepted Answer

Wearing a mask is no longer mandatory, but is strongly recommended if you have flu-like symptoms such as cough, runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, etc.  Help us protect other patients and our healthcare workers!

Can I still book a telephone appointment?

We still offer telephone appointments for certain instances, but this is not always indicated. 
A telephone appointment is usually NOT appropriate for a new problem. 
A telephone appointment may be appropriate for a follow-up on a known problem, a follow-up on results, or a follow-up on a new medication. 
A phone appointment requires that you have seen your doctor in the office within 12 months.

Question 10

My health card has expired.

Your health card proves that you are covered by OHIP (Ontario's health care plan) which is why you must show it at every visit.
Your health card is how you pay for your medical visits. Make sure you have a valid health card before coming for your appointment. 
If your health card is expired or you do not have your health card, you will have to pay to see your doctor.
If your health card has expired, you can renew it in person at a Service Ontario office or online at the following link: Renew your health card. 
Please call the clinic when you have the new version code to update your file.

Question 11

Missed appointment

Our cancellation policy requires a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel your appointment. 
If you miss your appointment, a fee of $60 will be charged. 
This fee must be paid before another appointment can be made.

Question 12

What should I do if I think I have a urinary tract infection (UTI) or strep throat?

An appointment with your doctor is NOT necessary. 
Contact the nurses' station at extension 4 and they will ask you a few questions. 
If necessary, they'll ask you to bring in a urine sample or come in for a throat swab.
